Alpha, Your Love Never Arrived on Time
When I started bleeding at the airport, my Alpha mate was already on the plane with another woman sitting in my place. I lost my pup alone, only to discover she was pregnant too. He kept saying she meant nothing, but his choices destroyed everything between us. So I rejected the bond, left his pack, and rebuilt myself far from him. By the time he realized what he had lost, I was no longer the broken Luna he abandoned, I was the one beyond his reach.

第1章
My mate, Nate Clarke, the Alpha of the Silverwood Pack, has a severe intolerance for disorder.
At our mate ceremony, he set one hard rule: if an argument lasted more than ten minutes, he would walk out. No exceptions.
On our anniversary, my morning sickness was so bad that I ended up three minutes late to the gate.
By the time I looked up, Nate had already ordered the crew to close the cabin door.
Felicia Smith, one of his subordinates, was sitting in my first-class seat.
It was the fourth time.
Every time I was late, he handed my seat over to Felicia.
The first time, security delayed me by two minutes, and he flew to Hawaii with Felicia instead.
The second time, I was five minutes late coming back from a prenatal appointment, and he took Felicia to the hot spring resort I had booked.
The third time, I was so sick I came downstairs ninety seconds late, and he drove off with Felicia in the car.
"You're always late. I wasn't going to leave the seat empty. That would've been a waste."
I was standing alone in the empty departure lounge when a sharp pain ripped through my abdomen.
The Mate Bond twisted inside me, a bone-deep pull that screamed for me to get closer to my Alpha.
But my Alpha was already thirty thousand feet in the air, with another woman beside him.
My hands were shaking as I called Nate.
Busy.
I called again.
Still busy.
The third time, he picked up.
"Felicia's airsick. I can't leave right now. Call an ambulance."
I looked at the blood spreading beneath me and set my phone on the floor.
Nate Clarke, there was never even a minute in your schedule for me.
So this time, I'll be the one leaving you behind for good.
...
By the time the ambulance got there, I could barely speak.
The paramedics cut away the blood-soaked fabric at my leg and lifted me onto a stretcher.
A nurse grabbed my wrist. "Where's your family? How far along are you? Any underlying conditions?"
"Eleven weeks. My family's on a plane."
"Who's the pup's father? Can you reach him?"
I closed my eyes. "Don't bother. He can't come."
My phone rang again.
Nate's name flashed on the screen. I stared at it for two seconds, then answered.
"Wendy, did you call an ambulance?"
His voice was low. In the background, I could hear Felicia's soft, fragile voice.
"Nate, did something happen to Wendy? Should we turn back? I can handle it."
Nate's tone stayed flat. "She always makes a big deal out of nothing. Just lie down."
Then he spoke to me. "The airport clinic could've handled it. Why did you call an ambulance? We've already taken off. We're not turning around for you."
Another cramp tore through me.
I bit my lip and waited for it to pass. "The doctor says I might miscarry."
He was silent for two seconds.
"Are you using our pup to threaten me again?"
"Wendy, you're the one who was late. If I rearrange everything every time you mess up, everyone in the pack is going to think my time is up for grabs."
Before, I would have rushed to explain that I hadn't meant to delay him.
But now, watching the nurse replace one blood-soaked pad after another, I suddenly didn't want to say anything at all.
Felicia's soft voice drifted over the line. "Nate, don't be mad. Pregnant women get emotional. She probably just wants a little attention."
Nate's voice turned even colder.
"I don't have time for your jealousy."
"If they admit you, keep the receipts. I'll reimburse you when I get back. And stop calling. Felicia needs to rest."
The line went dead.
I checked the time.
Exactly ten minutes.
By the time the exam was over, it was already dark outside.
The doctor set the report in front of me. "Threatened miscarriage. There's bleeding along the edge of the placenta. From now on, you have to stay in bed. No running around. No stress."
"Can the pup be saved?"
"There's still a heartbeat for now, but there's no guarantee. Is there any family who can come tonight?"
I shook my head.
The doctor frowned. "You really shouldn't be alone right now. If the bleeding gets worse, press the call button right away."
The door opened.
Nate's Beta walked in carrying Nate's suitcase.
He took out a wrap. "Miss Smith left this at the airport. The Alpha is worried she'll be cold on the flight back. He wants you to get it cleaned and pressed since you're close by."
The doctor's face darkened. "She nearly lost her pup, and you're asking her to run errands?"
The Beta looked awkward. "The Alpha said the Luna is used to handling things like this. And it has to be delivered before nine tomorrow morning. Miss Smith needs it for the return flight."
Just then, the Beta's phone rang.
Nate's voice came through the speaker.
"Did you drop it off?"
"I did, but the doctor says the Luna can't get out of bed."
"Then order an Uber Courier. Wendy, don't drag this out on purpose. Felicia needs it."
I pushed the wrap back toward him. "Take it. I'm not responsible for her things."
Nate sounded almost casual. "What's the drama for now? It's just a wrap."
I put a hand over my abdomen, still aching. My voice was so quiet I could barely hear it myself.
"You're right. So it won't matter if it gets lost."
The Beta reached for the wrap, but a prenatal booklet slipped out of the suitcase.
Felicia's name was on the cover.
And at the bottom, in bold black letters: Eight weeks pregnant.

"Felicia's pregnant?"
I opened the booklet. An ultrasound photo was tucked inside.
The Beta's face changed instantly, and he lunged for it. "Luna, that's Miss Smith's private medical information."
"Then why is her private medical information in the Alpha's suitcase?"
"The Alpha just went with her to the appointment."
The call was still connected.
Nate's voice came through, cold and clipped. "Felicia hasn't been feeling well, so I took her to the Pack hospital for a checkup. She doesn't have a mate now, and she doesn't want anyone to know. Don't spread her private business around."
I looked at the date on the ultrasound.
It was the same day as my first prenatal appointment.
That day, Nate had promised to go with me. But when we arrived at the Pack hospital, he told me Felicia's car had broken down and said I should go in by myself.
I waited four hours. When I came out with my results, his phone was off.
So while I was alone in the same hospital, he had finished a full prenatal appointment with another woman.
I asked, "Whose pup is it?"
"That's none of your business."
"You're my Alpha. My mate."
Nate's patience snapped. "Which is exactly why I'm telling you not to ask."
"Wendy, you already have a pup of your own. You don't need to be this hostile to someone who has no one."
"I just asked who the father is."
Felicia's voice came over the line, as if she had just woken up. "Wendy, please don't get the wrong idea. There's nothing going on between me and Nate. He only kept it quiet because I didn't want the pack to know."
"Then what about the pup's father?"
She went quiet for a moment, then started sniffling.
Nate immediately lowered his voice to comfort her. "It's okay. You don't have to say anything if you don't want to."
When he came back on the line, his voice was full of irritation.
"Enough. She just found out she's pregnant. She can't handle stress."
I looked at the diagnosis on my bedside table.
We were both pregnant.
Felicia frowned, and he worried about her stress.
I was bleeding in the Pack hospital, and all he could think about was making sure I got her wrap cleaned.
"Nate, I can't handle stress either."
"You seem fine to me."
The words came out before he could stop them. Silence stretched between us.
I didn't argue. For the first time, I was the one who hung up.
Nate didn't come back until the next afternoon.
He didn't come to my room first. He took Felicia home so she could rest.
It was seven that evening when he finally walked in with a takeout bag.
"Felicia said you haven't been eating much. She asked me to bring this."
I glanced at the container.
Chicken noodles. Felicia's favorite.
With onions, which I'm allergic to.
"Just leave it there."
He sat on the edge of the bed, his gaze settling on my pale face. "What did the doctor say?"
"Bed rest. Try to keep the pup."
"At tomorrow night's Full Moon banquet, we were going to announce your pregnancy. Since you can't make it, Felicia can fill in for you."
I stared at him. "You want her to stand in as Luna?"
Nate tucked the blanket around me, his tone gentler than usual.
"She's just taking your place for the night. Focus on getting better. Don't make a big deal out of it."
The next second, he pulled an authorization form from his briefcase.
"Sign this. We're announcing the Cloud Cabin project tomorrow night. Since you can't be there, Felicia's name will go on the lead designer credit for now. We'll switch it back after the launch."
I gripped the paper.
The Cloud Cabin was my mother's unfinished manuscript, a project I had spent two years pouring everything into.
"Why can't you just announce it under my name?"
"If you miss the launch, investors will lose confidence. Felicia looks the part, and she'll show up on time. She's a better choice."
"That's my design."
"I know."
He pressed the pen into my hand, his thumb resting lightly against it.
"We're only borrowing her name. Don't be difficult."
I pulled my hand away. "I'm not signing."
His expression turned cold.
"Wendy, the Silverwood Pack is not your personal playhouse."
"You already threw off the flight schedule by showing up late. Felicia's willing to clean up your mess. Why are you causing another scene?"
He smoothed the form flat again. "Sign it by nine. The Beta will come get it."
I stared at his back. "What if I don't sign?"
Nate paused at the door.
"All the R&D files for Cloud Cabin are in my company. If you refuse, I can still decide who presents it."
He knew exactly how much that project had cost me.
I clenched my fist and finally said it.
"I want to break the Mate Bond."
Nate stopped in his tracks.
He turned back, mockery in his eyes.
"Wendy, even jealousy has limits. Don't take this so far you can't walk it back."
His voice was steady, the same way it always was when we fought, calm and certain that I could never leave him.
But this time, I was completely done with Nate. And with the Mate Bond between us.
