Still devastated by the loss of my baby, I poured everything I had into raising him as my own son. I quit my high-paying job and devoted myself to him completely. I pushed him all the way into a top university, while years of neglecting my own health left me riddled with illness. On the day of the celebration dinner for his college admission, he pulled out my oxygen line. Only then did I learn the truth. The boy I'd raised as my own was actually my husband's son with his secretary, the woman he'd been having an affair with. When I opened my eyes again, I had gone back in time to the day my husband first brought him home. "Honey, this boy came into our lives for a reason. Make sure you take good care of him." I smiled and agreed. "Don't worry, honey. I'll raise him just like my own son." So he wanted me to raise his love child for him? Fine. This time, I'd spoil him so rotten he grew into an absolute monster.

Chapter 1 "Honey, look at this little guy. He's so lively, and his eyes look just like yours." Shane Shaw walked over to me, but there was a trace of caution in his eyes as he watched for my reaction. Right behind him was his personal secretary, Lena Mann. In my previous life, Lena had come to me with tears in her eyes and told me this boy was the most pitiful child in the orphanage. She'd even claimed that, of all the children there, he somehow had the strongest connection to the baby I'd lost. I'd believed every word. For more than ten years, I'd loved and raised that little monster as if he were my own son. It wasn't until I was dying that I learned the truth. The boy was Shane and Lena's biological son, born from their affair behind my back. "Shane, when exactly did you have a child without me knowing?" I picked up my coffee and took a sip. The smile on Shane's face stiffened, and he quickly explained, "Honey, you've got it wrong. He's an orphan. Why don't we adopt him?" Lena went pale. She couldn't help stepping forward, her voice soft and delicate. "Mrs. Shaw, this poor boy has had such a hard life..." I shot to my feet. "Then why don't you adopt him?" Shane immediately set the boy down and hurried toward me. "Honey, what are you talking about? Lena isn't married. How is she supposed to adopt a child?" Before he could finish, three-year-old Theo Shaw suddenly kicked a vase over, smashing it to pieces. Shane was clearly startled, worried I would lose my temper. "Honey, Theo's still young. He doesn't know any better. He broke your vase, so I'll buy you another one..." "Buy another one for what? A vase isn't more important than a child." I walked over to Theo, crouched in front of him, and stroked the little face I now knew hid such a vicious nature. "Good job, Theo. I was tired of that vase anyway. It was too boring." I pulled a thick stack of cash from my purse and shoved it straight into his hands. "Son, from now on, if there's anything in this house you don't like, smash it. Mom's got you covered." Theo froze, clutching the thick wad of bills as confusion filled his eyes. Lena covered her mouth and stared at me in disbelief. Shane was completely dumbfounded too. "Honey, what did you just call him?" I stood up with a radiant smile. "My son. I've decided to adopt him. "Shane, starting today, I'm going to spoil him like the most precious little prince in the world." I would indulge his every whim until he was rotten to the core. I turned to the housekeeper. "Mrs. Warren, go get that set of antique blue-and-white porcelain vases from the study and bring them out for Theo to play with." Then I looked back at them. "You heard me. As long as Theo's happy, he can tear this whole house apart for all I care." A flash of wild delight crossed Shane's eyes as he looked at me. He thought the loss of my baby had truly driven me out of my mind. Chapter 2 Early the next morning, before Shane left, he reminded me that Theo was shy around strangers and asked me to be patient with him. I watched him walk away and let out a cold laugh. "Mrs. Warren, go get the luxury watch from Shane's study." I'd pulled countless strings to get that limited-edition watch for Shane's birthday the year before. It was worth six hundred thousand, and he treasured it like nothing else. He only wore it when he was meeting clients for major deals. Mrs. Warren hesitated. "Ma'am, that's Mr. Shaw's favorite watch..." "I told you to get it. Why are you still talking?" I shot her a cold look. She flinched and hurried off to the study. A moment later, she returned with the watch. I turned to Theo, who was sitting on the couch picking his nose. "Theo, want to play with a really expensive toy?" I dangled the gleaming watch in front of him. His eyes lit up at once, and he reached for it. "Give it to me! Give it!" I handed it over, then pulled a small hammer from the toolbox. "There are shiny little gears inside, and it makes a ticking sound. "Don't you want to see what it looks like inside?" Theo grabbed the hammer, instantly excited. "Yes! I want to break it open!" "Go ahead. If you break it, Mom will buy you an even better one." I sat beside him and calmly trimmed my nails. Bang! Bang! Bang! The dull pounding echoed through the living room. Under Theo's wild hammering, the face of the six-hundred-thousand-dollar watch shattered almost immediately. He worked himself into a sweat, still yelling, "Smash it! Smash it!" Just then, the front door flew open. Shane had rushed back after realizing he'd left a document behind. The moment he stepped inside, he heard the harsh sound of metal being struck. "Theo, what are you doing?" Then he saw the wreckage on the floor and let out a horrified cry. He rushed over, snatched the hammer from Theo's hand, and stared at the ruined watch, trembling with anger and heartbreak. "My watch! My limited-edition watch!" Theo jumped in fright and immediately burst into tears. "Wah... Bad Daddy! Mommy gave it to me to play with!" Shane whipped around to face me, his eyes red with fury. He raised his hand as if he were about to slap me. "Quenna Gray, are you insane? That watch cost six hundred thousand!" My tears came instantly, and I looked even more aggrieved than Theo. "Shane, in your eyes, are your wife and son really worth less than some stupid watch?" His hand froze in midair. His face went from pale to dark as he forced down all that anger, looking like he might choke on it. "Honey... that's not what I mean. I was just caught off guard." He finally lowered his hand, sounding completely drained. "It's just a watch. If it's broken, it's broken." I wiped my tears, pulled Theo into my arms, and gave Shane a challenging look. "Don't be scared, Theo. Daddy was just playing with you." Then I looked at Shane. "Come on. Apologize to your son. You scared him." Shane stared at me as if he couldn't believe what he'd just heard. His watch had been smashed, and now he had to apologize to the person who smashed it? "Shane, are you apologizing or not? If you don't, I'm taking Theo and going back to my parents' house." I made a show of getting up. That finally killed whatever resistance he had left. He still needed my father's connections to land projects. Forcing a smile that looked worse than crying, he walked over to Theo. "Theo, I'm sorry. Daddy was too loud just now. You can keep playing." Theo stopped crying at once and made a face at him. "Nyah nyah! Bad Daddy! Stinky Daddy!" Shane stared at the biological son he'd spoiled rotten as the boy insulted him, his face turning black with rage. I leaned back against the couch and watched it all unfold, feeling deeply satisfied. "Shane, this is only the beginning. "I'm going to make sure the seeds you'd planted with your own hands grow into the most poisonous fruit imaginable," I thought with relish. Chapter 3 At three that afternoon, Lena arrived with a large bag of educational picture books and fresh fruit. "Mrs. Shaw, I brought Theo some books. He's at the perfect age to start learning." Lena forced a smile, but the concern in her eyes was impossible to hide. I sat on the couch with a glass of iced Coke in my hand. "Lena, Theo's only three. Why make him read already? It'll just strain his eyes." I glanced over at Theo, who was squatting on the floor playing with mud and had already made a complete mess of the spotless white carpet. "Theo, come here. Mom ordered you a big bucket of fried chicken, and I got you an extra-large ice cream too, your favorite." The second Theo heard there was food, he came charging over like a little pig without even washing the mud off his hands. Lena immediately reached out to stop him. "Theo, wash your hands first. Eating all this junk food isn't good for you. "And you still need to read. How about I teach you some words?" Theo's eyes widened, and he shoved her away with obvious disgust. "I don't want to! I want chicken! You're a bad woman! Go away!" Lena froze. This was the son she'd carried for nine months, yet he was standing there calling her a bad woman. Still unwilling to give up, she grabbed his arm. "Theo, be good. I... I'm only trying to help you." I let out a cold laugh and handed Theo my glass of iced Coke. "Theo, she won't let you eat chicken, and she wants to make you study every day too. Tell me, isn't she awful?" Theo snatched the Coke from me and ripped off the lid. "Yes! She's the worst woman in the whole world!" The words had barely left his mouth when he flung the drink straight at Lena. More than half the Coke, along with the ice, splashed all over her face and hair. Lena screamed. Her carefully done makeup was instantly ruined, and black mascara ran down her cheeks with the Coke, leaving two bizarre streaks that made her look both ridiculous and miserable. "Theo! You..." She trembled with fury and instinctively raised her hand, ready to discipline the son who had just humiliated her. I shot to my feet and grabbed her wrist hard. "Lena, are you seriously trying to hit my son right in front of me?" My gaze turned icy as I tightened my grip until pain shot through her wrist. Lena sucked in a sharp breath. Tears gathered in her eyes, but she didn't dare argue back. "Mrs. Shaw, I... I just think he's being terribly rude." "My son doesn't need an outsider teaching him manners." I released her with a hard shove, sending her sprawling back onto the couch. "Theo, keep eating. If anyone makes you unhappy, treat them however you want." Theo grinned smugly at Lena, spat in her direction, then grabbed a greasy drumstick and took a huge bite. Lena covered her face and stared at her own son in despair as I deliberately encouraged every one of his worst habits. Just then, Shane walked in. He opened his mouth when he saw the scene in front of him, but the moment his eyes met my cold stare, whatever he had been about to say died in his throat. He looked at the woman he loved, drenched in Coke, then at his own son, who was already behaving like a little thug. The expression on Shane's hypocritical face shifted through one ugly shade after another. I leaned back against the couch and watched the two of them choke back their anger. I could barely keep from laughing. Chapter 4 With me indulging his every whim, Theo soon learned to do exactly as I said. Shane was the only one panicking. He pulled every string he could, desperate to get Theo into the best kindergarten in the city. On the first day of school, Shane even dressed him in a custom-made little suit. "Theo, when you meet the principal, you need to be polite, okay?" Shane nervously rubbed his hands together, repeating the same warning over and over in the car. Theo only looked annoyed. He tugged at his bow tie and complained that it was choking him. While Shane got out to retrieve the gift from the trunk, I leaned close to Theo. "Son, remember what Mom told you. "You're the little prince of the Shaw family. Nobody gets to boss you around. "And if that old man won't give you candy, throw as big a fit as you want. Whatever happens, Mom will handle it." Theo's sharp little eyes, inherited from Lena, lit up immediately. He lifted his chin proudly. "Got it!" The interview was held in the principal's spacious, lavishly furnished office. Shelves of imported books lined the walls, and the expensive hardwood furniture gave the whole room an unmistakably elite air. Principal Harold Whitman, a white-haired man in gold-rimmed glasses, adjusted his frames and gave Theo a kindly smile. "Young man, can you tell me your name?" Theo tilted his head, then reached straight for the Montblanc pen on the desk. "Old man, you don't even know who I am? What kind of school are you running?" The room fell dead silent. Shane shot to his feet, cold sweat breaking out across his forehead. "Theo! Is that any way to speak to Mr. Whitman?" Harold frowned but managed to keep his temper. "Mr. Shaw, this child's manners..." Before he could finish, Theo did something even worse. When he realized there was no candy on Harold's desk, he flew into a rage. He knocked over the ink bottle, sending black ink across a stack of important documents. Then, right in front of everyone, he pulled down his pants. "Since there's no candy, I'm gonna pee all over your desk!" A steaming stream arced through the air and landed squarely on the principal's expensive Apple computer. There was a faint crackle. The screen went black, and smoke began curling from the machine. "Ah!" Harold trembled with rage and jabbed a finger at Shane. "Get out! Take this completely undisciplined little brat of yours and get out of my school! "Stanton Kindergarten will never accept a child like this!" Shane's face turned a deep, ugly red. He looked like he wanted the ground to swallow him whole. He bowed and apologized over and over, but security still marched all three of us straight out the front gates. Standing outside the kindergarten's grand entrance, Shane shook with fury. He raised his hand high and charged at Theo, his eyes bloodshot. "I'm going to beat some sense into you today, you little bastard!" "Try laying one finger on my son!" I rushed forward, pulled Theo behind me, and shoved Shane away. "Quenna Gray! Look at what he's done! He humiliated me in front of everyone!" Shane roared in despair, drawing stares from the parents passing by. I only gave a cold laugh and pulled out the oversized limited-edition Lego set I'd prepared in advance. "Son, you did great! "A lousy school like this isn't good enough for the Shaw family anyway. If they don't want you, then you don't need them! "Here. Mom got you this five-thousand-dollar Lego set as a reward." Theo snatched the box from me and made a smug face at Shane. "Nyah nyah! Daddy's useless!" The parents around us whispered and pointed, openly watching Shane like he was part of some ridiculous spectacle. He looked mortified, but as far as I was concerned, this was only the beginning. The real show was still to come.
