I Was Mistaken As A Mistress

I had been an oracle since birth. Whatever I said would come true. When I first started to speak, I said that my father was going to be rich. That night, my father won a lottery that was worth a hundred million dollars. When I was six, I said the village chief’s grandson would return home safely. The next day, someone found him covered in dirt at the village entrance. When I was eighteen, I commented online that Harrison Corporation, which was almost going bankrupt, would bounce back. As expected, two weeks later, their share prices reached a new height. Hence, Brown Corporation invited me as a respectable guest due to my accurate predictions. However, I had just barely stepped through the doorway of the Brown family mansion when someone dragged me down by my long hair. “Witch, how dare you seduce my boyfriend! You even have the gall to come to our home and pursue him! Do you have a death wish?” Clearly, I had been misunderstood. I tried to explain myself, but the person would not listen. I quickly found myself on the receiving end of a barrage of blows. When my bangle broke, I tasted blood in my mouth. No one knew that aside from being an oracle, I would also bring bad luck. Whoever drew my blood would be unlucky. It looked like the Brown family would go downhill from here. Chapter 1 “Ms. Mason, please have a seat. Mr. Brown is on his way home from the office. “He’ll be here very soon.” The nanny, Nancy Smith, treated me very politely as she smiled fawningly at me. I gestured. “Alright, don’t worry about it.” I was an oracle. Everything that I said came true. Initially, John was also a little suspicious. However, two years ago, when he tested my ability, I had told him that their share price would increase. Indeed, their share price sky-rocketed that very night. The Brown family, which was in a sticky situation at the time, managed to get two buffer years because of my words. Since then, John came to trust me. In a bid to seek out my services again, John pulled out all the stops. He even suggested adopting me to the Brown family for me to enjoy the riches before I agreed to his request. After Nancy sat me in the living room, she went to the kitchen to cut me some fruits. The other helpers were very respectful towards me. They all looked at me with reverence. I sat on the couch and quietly waited for John’s return. I felt a throbbing pain in my head. That brought a frown to my face. When I turned around, I realized that glass had been smashed against my head. Blood quickly trickled down. I pressed my hand against my forehead and saw Blair Hendrick’s twisted expression with blood dripping down my head. When they saw that I was injured, the two helpers immediately started panicking. “Ms. Mason is our esteemed guest. Mr. Brown himself invited her. Who are you?” Blair said through gritted teeth, “Who dares to lay a finger on me? I’m Victor’s girlfriend! “Witch, how dare you seduce Victor and show your face here?” Her friends were all looking at me in disgust. “Look at how poor she looks. How could she compare to Blair?” “Anyone with functioning eyes would know who they should be choosing.” “We have to teach this witch a lesson today!” They called me a homewrecker as they cursed me. I frowned and said coldly, “I’m not a homewrecker. Please don’t run your mouth off.” Just when I was about to leave, Blair slapped me fiercely. “You’re so shameless! Don’t think I didn’t see you hanging around Victor all the time. “I bet you’re thinking of new ways to seduce him every day.” She poked my eyes with her slender fingers and said sharply. I suddenly thought of Victor Brown. To make me come up with a prediction for the Brown family, he would always appear before me as he tried to please me. I did not expect Blair to be his girlfriend. The helpers around me reacted very quickly. They surrounded me and carefully treated my wounds. My voice was cold. “John asked me to help. Your boyfriend has nothing to do with me.” One of the helpers carefully voiced up for me, “Ms. Mason is an oracle. Everything she says will come true.” After she said that, Blair started guffawing with tears spilling out of her eyes. “If she’s an oracle, I would be a fairy. “You’ve said so much, why aren’t any of your words coming true?” I sighed quietly and helplessly. Even though I was an oracle, only one prediction would come true every year. Hence, I would not simply utilize this ability. Blair sneered and crossed her arms. “Do I look like an idiot that believes in such bogus nonsense? “How dare you try to steal my boyfriend? I’ll make you pay.” She stared at me viciously. Her friends stepped forward as they looked at me scornfully. She tried to approach me again. I took a step back with a hoarse voice. “If you dare to do anything to me, the Brown family would never forgive you.” Blair charged over first and hit my head against the floor fiercely. “How dare you threaten me, witch? “Everyone, go ahead and teach this homewrecker a lesson!” Chapter 2 I frowned as blood dripped down my forehead. I was completely angered. I stared at Blair coldly. “I’m the esteemed guest of the Brown family. Who are you in comparison? “You should immediately leave now, and I will treat it as if nothing had happened.” They would just be unlucky for a while. However, seeing that I did not see her as a threat, Blair could not hold herself back any longer. She lunged at me with bloodshot eyes and started to hit me while she sat on me. I was pressed against the floor, and I did not have the strength to fight back. When she got closer to me, I bit her ear. Blair covered her ear and glared at me viciously. Her friends rushed toward me and pinned me down. All of them slapped me. I felt a tearing pain from my head. Then, they dragged me and threw me against the gravel road. I grunted in pain. I saw heels surrounding me. When they stepped on the back of my hands, I could hear my bones breaking. My right ear was ringing when they slapped me for the first time. “What a shameless homewrecker!” My face was swollen in pain when they hit me on my left cheek. “Witch, I hate trampy women like you who steal other people’s boyfriends! You’re so disgusting.” When they slapped me for the third time, I could taste blood in my mouth. “People like you don’t deserve to live.” They took turns to drag me by my hair. My hair was matted against my swollen cheek because of the blood. They purposely slid their sharp nails against the corner of my eyes. Blood trickled into my clothes. They were very violent, and the two helpers were terrified. I looked at them. “Quick, call John!” I panted heavily and warned Blair coldly. “Let me go! Otherwise, I won’t let you marry into the Brown family.” Blair snorted and kicked me again. “Do you really think I know nothing? “You’re just a country bumpkin. Are you still claiming to be an oracle? What a joke! “You’re just seducing Victor whenever I was not looking. I know what’s in your thoughts!” She kicked my ribs. When I curled up, I hit my forehead against the concrete wall. Blood immediately pooled on my right eye. Finally, she grabbed my neck and hit it against the coffee table. The moment the shard sliced my chin open, blood splattered on the floor. She sneered and kicked me in my abdomen. “Witch!” I pressed my hands against my abdomen as I curled up. “What are you doing?” Nancy finally walked out of the kitchen with a plate of cut fruits. When she saw my terrible state, her eyes widened in shock. She quickly ran over and helped me up. “Ms. Mason is the esteemed guest of Mr. Brown. He told us to treat her well! “Who dares to hit her?” She turned around and met Blair’s eyes. Blair chuckled, “Nancy.” “Ms. Hendrick, why are you here?” Blair stared at her and said coldly, “What esteemed guest? Isn’t she just a country bumpkin? “I’m telling you, I’m the future Mrs. Brown.” Nancy glanced at Blair, and then at me. She looked torn before finally letting go of my hand. I could not stand upright, then I fell onto the ground again. Blair sneered and looked smug. “What oracle? I think you’re just a scammer! “Say, is she an oracle?” Nancy’s eyes flickered before she walked toward Blair. “What oracle? She’s just a scammer.” My heart dropped. Chapter 3 Blair was very satisfied with Nancy’s flattery. I was bleeding all over, but I did not have any strength to fight back. I could only exhale. It was hard for me to even inhale. I did not even have the energy to speak. Blair pinched my chin with her long fingernails. Her eyes fell onto the necklace around my neck. Before I could hold my necklace, she tore it from my neck. “Give me back,” I wailed. I did not even care about the blood on my neck. It was the only thing my late mother had left me. I said through gritted teeth, “Give the necklace back to me.” I got up as I wanted to snatch the necklace back. However, her two friends were holding me back and starting to hit me again. Blair dangled the necklace before me. “Is this necklace that important to you? “I can give it back to you if you beg and grovel for it. “If I’m happy with it, I’ll give it back to you.” My eyes were teary as I clenched my fists. I glared at her in hatred. Blair looked unbothered. She was pinching the necklace like she was disgusted with it. “It seems like you don’t care about the necklace that much. “If that’s the case…” She was about to throw away the necklace. I parted my broken lips. “I’ll beg!” After I said that, I felt all energy drained out of me. She bent down and patted my face. “I didn’t expect you to be this adaptable. “Act quickly if you want to beg. Time’s ticking.” I looked at the necklace in her hand and shut my eyes. I started to slap myself. Once I got my necklace back, I would make her pay. After I slapped myself, I stared intently at her. “Give it back to me.” Blair looked at me smugly. “Do you think I’ll give it back to you just because you asked me to? “I’m telling you, this is what you get for being a homewrecker.” After she said that, she tossed the necklace onto the ground and immediately stomped on it. I watched as the necklace broke into pieces, but I had no other way of saving it. I said with a hoarse voice, “I’m going to kill you!” I got up from the ground and charged forward. Then, I choked her. “She’s crazy! Crazy!” Very soon, people around her pulled me away. I was overwhelmed with hatred. I said through clenched teeth, “Blair, I won’t forgive you.” After I said that, everyone laughed. Blair was guffawing. “What a joke! Did I hear you wrongly? You’re just a country bumpkin, what are you going to do to me? “Boo-hoo, I’m so scared. I want to see how you’re going to do to me. “I don’t think you’ve learned your lesson yet. If that’s the case, let’s teach her more!” They ran at me again. I did not bother fighting back. I curled up on the ground quietly and allowed them to hit me. “Haha! Look, she must become an idiot after being hit by us! She’s not even fighting back!” Blair teared up from laughing so hard. I looked at the blood on the ground with a smile. Chapter 4 When Blair saw me laughing, she was furious. She roared, “What are you laughing at, homewrecker? “I’m going to make this your last laugh ever!” My voice was very soft. I sounded cold as I stared at her. “You’re going to be disfigured soon.” Upon hearing that, Blair widened her eyes in shock. Then, her expression darkened. “You witch, how dare you curse me? “I won’t let you off the hook!” She rolled her sleeves up and walked toward me. However, she suddenly fell onto the ground in the next second. “Ah!” She screamed and covered her face tightly with her hand. “Blair, your face!” Her friends could not help but scream. Blair took out her pocket mirror, and her scream became louder. She pressed her hand against her bleeding cheek and glared viciously at me. I looked at the blade that suddenly appeared on the ground and smirked. Blair was furious. She launched herself at me. “How dare you curse me, jinx? “Since you like cursing people, I will mute you forever!” I dug my fingernails into my palm and said with a hoarse voice, “Do you dare to do that?” She cocked an eyebrow. “How would I not? I’m the future Mrs. Brown. You’re just a powerless country bumpkin. Why wouldn’t I dare to do anything to you?” She shot a look at her friends. I was immediately subdued. She took out two needles from her bag that were as long as a forearm and walked toward me. “Today, I’m going to serve justice by shutting you up.” “Even if you pierce these through my throat, I would still recover.” After I said that, a hint of gold spark glinted in my eyes. However, it disappeared very quickly, so no one saw it. Blair was very quick. She aimed the needle at my throat and pierced it through. My body was shaking from the pain, but I could not make a sound. Seeing that I was struggling, Blair was very smug. “This is what you deserve.” Tears kept streaming down my cheeks, and I broke into a cold sweat from the pain in my throat. My vision became spotty, and I felt like I could not hold on any longer. Nancy ran toward Blair. “Ms. Hendrick, this is how you teach homewreckers a lesson. “In the past, we would have stoned such shameless women.” I bit my tongue. The metallic taste of blood kept me calm. Blair patted the dust from her palms as she cocked her brow. “That’s right. She’s a dirty woman, so she should be stoned. Let’s bring some stones over.” She peered down at me like she was looking at trash. Her eyes were filled with disgust. “Take her away.” After she said that, someone voiced up from behind her. “Who are you? What are you doing at my place? “Luna!” I heard John’s voice calling out.
